Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou shalt not make a graven image,
Of creature that flies or swims or walks,
Neither in Heaven nor earth’s scrimmage,
Or anything that beneath water talks.

For no form can capture the divine,
Neither painting, carvings, nor a stone,
To worship it, would be a sin,
For the true God stands alone.

Let not false idols lead thee astray,
A carpenter’s hands cannot create,
A god that listens and answers to pray,
For this, one should contemplate and wait.

The Almighty is all but He,
No likeness can He be compared,
Let our worship be pure and free,
From false images that might ensnare.

So let not our hands craft what’s divine,
Nor bow to statues or make them divine,
For the true God is far beyond line,
And nothing on earth can alter this divine design.
