“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand”.
Matthew 4:17 (KJV)
God created humans for us to have a relationship with Him. However, due to Adam & Eve’s original sin, humans then became separated from God.
Therefore, repentance for our sin is crucial. We must repent so we will be able to reunite with God, and spend eternity with Him in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Repentance is not just about acknowledging your sins; but it also involves a deep remorse and a strong willingness to change…What I like to call, True Repentance.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
TRUE REPENTANCE
True repentance will result in a complete inward transformation, making it possible for us to love and serve God with true sincerity and full devotion.
True Repentance requires a real change in your behavior. You know, John the Baptist emphasized on the importance of repentance in Matthew Chapter 3 verse 8.
“Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance”.
Matthew 3:8 (KJV)
True repentance also means that we leave behind our old sinful ways, and begin to live a life that is pleasing to our Creator.
We must always follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. We need to obey His commandments, and live our daily lives grounded in His truth, love, and forgiveness.
Do you know that the Bible identifies two kinds of sorrow? There is Godly sorrow, having Godly sorrow leads to repentance. Then there is worldly sorrow, which only leads to death.
“As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a Godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us”. 10–“For Godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death”.
2 Corinthians 7:9-10 (KJV)
Confessing our sins and asking God for His forgiveness is necessary for true salvation. Without repentance, we cannot experience the fullness of God’s love and grace.
Only our true repentance from our sins can bring forth the true salvation with our Lord.
